Lisbon has a new moon—BLACK MOON, the gastrobar that has opened in the heart of Baixa, part of MYTHIC SANA – Downtown Suites, yet with a life of its own.
BLACK MOON is a sophisticated, intimate, and tantalizing destination. A 32-seat space (24 seated and 8 at the bar), where every detail is designed to transform the meal into a ritual of pleasure and discovery.

 

THE MENU

 

Each dish is a journey. Luis Ortiz, Chef at BLACK MOON, draws inspiration from the heart of Mexico—from memories of family gatherings and his grandmother’s hands that guided each recipe—and brings it to life in Lisbon, where he blends tradition and innovation with a signature approach, transforming simple ingredients into unforgettable culinary experiences. For Chef Luis Ortiz, cooking is storytelling—a precise balance between heritage, creativity, and passion. At the table, each creation invites you to immerse yourself in a world where flavor, culture, and emotion converge.

 

Among the appetizers, highlights include oysters from Alvor or the Sado River, aged cuttlefish, French fries with caviar, and duck croquettes.
Among the starters, the “lily in ash” stands out as one of the signature dishes, alongside tuna belly and Australian Wagyu chorizo with truffle-infused potato crisps.
Among the main courses, red mullet with onion purée, aged duck, and fried chicken with Korean sauce stand out.
For dessert, pau santo ice cream and “grandma’s flan” leave a lasting impression, evoking memories, comfort, and a sense of identity.

From dawn to dawn

 

The day begins with the Signature Mythic Breakfast, a semi-à-la-carte breakfast (€45), inspired by icons of the global hospitality industry. Starting at noon, BLACK MOON comes fully to life, offering snacks and light dishes, wines, and champagnes; the kitchen remains open into the night, with continuous service that keeps pace with the city’s pulse.
Between 10:30 p.m. and 1 a.m., the atmosphere becomes more intimate, with a bold menu of desserts and cocktails perfect for extending the night with sophistication and pleasure.

 

Champagne Bar & Portuguese Wine Bar

The Champagne Bar celebrates the most prestigious houses and signature cuvées, served by the bottle or by the glass—a curated selection that transforms every bubble into a moment.
The wine list, meanwhile, pays homage to the Portuguese spirit, bringing together exceptional producers and rare vintages that reveal the character of each region.

 

Atmosphere and Design

Amid white marble, subtle gold accents, and the deep black that gives the space its name, BLACK MOON’s design blends intensity and elegance.
